Plume Craft

I had a little play date today with Jasper and his friend Zoe, baking cookies and doing crafty things to pass the time over the week long Thanksgiving break. We made wreathes out of packaged turkey feathers and 4" woven wood wreath forms. This could either be a simple last-minute Thanksgiving decoration, or an earthy holiday wreath. All you need is a little hot glue and some scissors to complete.  See their creations below...

Layer larger more graphic feathers toward the back, and cover the pointy quill tips here and there with smaller downy feathers. Trim the feathers to get dimension, and cut into the sides at an angle to make them less uniform and wild.

For a kids project, add in some sparkly faux flowers and pine cones...

Jasper's (left) looks a little like a red-bearded viking to me, while Zoe's I just want to wear on my head.
